Notes for Evangeline Brimson:  When Elva was in her teens she helped her Father with his mail route in the summer. One winter when her father was sick with the Asian Flu, she delivered the mail for him by horse and buggy. She was able to do this because the schools had been closed due to the outbreak of Asian flu. Having grown up around horses she had no trouble handling them. Elva and Vero met at a garden party July 24, 1917 at Napdale school. Their first date was for the Shetland Picnic. In June, 1920 they eloped and were married in Guelph, Ontario. At this time, since school boards would only hire single women and widows, she had to resign her job as a teacher.

Throughout Elva's married life she saw many locations as her husband rarely stayed at the same job in the same location for more than a year or two. Among the many places they lived were - Bothwell, Wardsville, Crinan, Rodney, Dutton, and London as well as many rural locations.

After her husband retired they moved to a little house on Shackleton Street in Dutton. Elva continued to live in the house for another 10 years after Vero's death and then she moved into an apartment on Centre street, Dutton. She sold her house to her grandson Robin Kenneth Willson.
